Key Findings:
In this opinion piece, the author highlights that it is imperative for Israel to continue to adhere to international war law and exercise caution in regards to speech and rhetoric.
He highlights that although the international system is unjustly biased against Israel, and that many of the countries accusing Israel of genocide have violent track records, Israel still has to work within this system and maintain its integrity and relationship with the West.
He cautions that Israeli leaders and public figures who represent the country should maintain responsible behavior and refrain from inflammatory speech regarding the war. The future of Israel’s relations with the West depends on this, as well as the ability to defend themselves in the face of this difficult campaign that has been waged against them.
Methodology:
The author writes in response to the accusations of genocide against Israel by South Africa in the International Court of Justice.
