Beyond the Welfare of the Jews
Topic:
Antisemitism & Antizionism
Principal Investigators:

Key Findings:
The political weaponization of antisemitism often overshadows the fight against it. Whether on the right or the left, political parties use antisemitism as a tool for the advancement of their own agendas rather than the cause itself.
Lipstadt argues that no matter which political party or socio-economic background one comes from, what matters most is that antisemitism be identified and immediately acknowledged. Doing so in one’s immediate circles no matter what the professional, social, or familial situation is, is crucial.
The fight against antisemitism is a fight against all forms of racism, and therefore, a fight for all people. Lipstadt argues that all hatred is part of a larger fabric. Therefore, fighting antisemitism, by diluting the ideas upon which it is based on, contributes to the slow dissolution of a larger issue.
It is just as important to support the flourishing of Jewish culture as an antidote to antisemitism as it is dismantling antisemitic rhetoric. Fighting antisemitism should not become the identity of a Jewish person. It is important to reinforce to the youth that the political noise surrounding their heritage should not become their Jewish identity.
