Key Findings:
In June 2025, Boundless partnered with BSG to assess American attitudes toward the war in Gaza, focusing on the most serious accusations—including genocide and starvation. After 20 months of war, the results are sobering: support for Israel is declining, apathy is growing, and confusion is deepening.
-Support for Israel continues to decline.
-Increasingly, people say they support neither side or have no opinion.
-One in four Americans say the war is unjustified—with even higher numbers among key cohorts.
-A majority of our cohorts don’t believe Hamas is a terrorist organization.
-Roughly half of our cohorts are unaware that hostages remain in Gaza.
-Most people support allowing Palestinians to leave Gaza.
-Prevailing narratives in media and online—including claims that Israel is responsible for the war's continuation and committing war crimes—have taken hold among key audiences.
Methodology:
The Boundless Israel at War Poll was conducted by BSG through an online survey between May 30 and June 5, 2025. The core methodology includes the following elements:
Total Respondents:
General Population Sample Size: N = 794
Margin of Error (MoE): ±3.48%
Targeted Cohorts: The survey intentionally oversampled key demographic groups to allow deeper analysis. These were also weighted to reflect a representative U.S. population:
White Americans (ages 18–34) – N = 1135, MoE ±2.91%
Black Americans (18–34) – N = 499, MoE ±4.39%
Hispanic Americans (18–34) – N = 412, MoE ±4.83%
Asian Americans (18–34) – N = 534, MoE ±4.24%
Evangelicals/Fundamentalists (18–34) – N = 995, MoE ±3.11%
Liberals (18–34) – N = 722, MoE ±3.65%
Data Collection: Conducted online, with sampling and weighting techniques employed to ensure demographic representativeness of the U.S. adult population.
Longitudinal Tracking: This was the eighth wave of polling in a continuous research series that began in October 2023. The previous waves were conducted at regular intervals through 2023 and 2024.
